 St. Mary’s Primary School Whittlesea is situated approximately forty kilometres north of Melbourne. The school has been functioning since 1983, and the original school was situated in the grounds of St. Peter’s School at Epping whilst building took place at Whittlesea. The school began with 26 children and has now grown to over 200 students.

The school is situated on eight acres in a semi rural community and is the second school in the Parish of St. Peter’s Epping. The children are bussed in from within a thirty-kilometre radius, so the school is seen as a focus for the Catholic community in the area. Mass is held in the Church building, which is part of the school buildings complex.

The school has worked hard to develop a community spirit amongst the people from the far corners of the Parish. The School and the Parents’ & Friends Association encourage contact, and try to provide many opportunities for families to meet. The Parents & Friends Association play a vital role in the school, organising special lunch days, fundraising activities, social events, and running the School Uniform Shop. These strong home-school links form a very close bond between the school and its families.
