Brisbane Private Schools introduces Buranda State School in Woolloongabba, for all your education and learning needs.
Buranda Sate School is a government primary school catering to children in the first eight years of their schooling. Classes range from Prep to Year Seven.
Buranda State School is 3.5 kilometres from the GPO in Brisbane, Australia. The school enrolment is capped at 214 students, which is the maximum number that can be accommodated in the present facilities. There is always a waiting list operating.
The school draws its students from a wide range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, with our refugee children coming mainly from Africa. The students represent a wide range of abilities, from those with significant learning disabilities to those who are highly gifted. More than half the students come from outside the local area because of the school’s innovative programs. Some families move into the area in order to enrol their children in the school. We enjoy a very high level of parent and community involvement and support.
Buranda students are happy, engaged and motivated, and they achieve good results. They are encouraged to wonder, imagine, question, puzzle and think – alone and with others. Buranda students like being at school and they enjoy learning.
At Buranda, children are offered an excellent basic education. In addition to this, they are taught philosophy, and environmental education. Students are expected to become responsible and successful learners. We strive to develop people who:
Buranda State School has won many awards and received many accolades over the past few years for innovative curriculum, particularly for the teaching of philosophy.
Welcome to Buranda State School one of the popular educators in your Woolloongabba area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other's uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
